About The Medicine Kid

The Medicine Kid was founded in 2021 by Evynn Richardson, an enrolled member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe, who descends from Tuscarora people. It was the hope to bring artwork that accurately represents Indigenous people that drove her to begin building off of the artwork she had done since she was a child.

Anyone can be a medicine kid. It all depends on what type of mind you carry and how you plan on serving your community with it. It is Evynn's hope that the artwork she produces under the name The Medicine Kid will be used to start conversations, bring awareness to contemporary issues, and make other Indigenous people feel a little less lonely in a world that's lacking true, authentic representation.
